RULES AND REGULATIONS
- The library is open on all working days, from 10.00 a.m.to 5.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. (Saturday). During the examination period Library also remains open as usual.
- Bag (shoulder and sling) should be deposited at the ‘Bag Deposit Counter.’
- After entering the library everyone has to register themselves in the register.
- Readers should maintain silence inside the Library.
- Users are not allowed to carry eatables inside the Library premises.
- Library membership card is non-transferable.
- Newspapers, magazines and journals must be read only in the reading room.
- Books marked as ‘Open Rack’ are only for use in reading room. Students and staff cannot borrow those books.
- No library material can be taken out of the library without taking permission.
- Members are requested to login their account and change their personal details if there is any type of change.
- Members can reserve a book by logging into their accounts in case that is already issued out.
- Students and staff can register their purchase suggestions by logging into their accounts.
- Members have to bring their Library Card while entering in the library.
- Books in demand may not be renewed.
- Library reserves the right to recall any issued book even before the due date.Books marked as ‘Not To Be Removed’ can only be used in the library.
- Those Books having less copies (only one or two) in the library, are not allowed for lending. Those are only for consultation in the library premises.
- Borrowers must check the physical condition of the books before borrowing otherwise they will be held responsible for any damage later or at the time of returning it.
- The borrowers are requested to make sure that the books are properly issued or returned.
- Members are held responsible for all items issued by their names, until they are returned by the respective members.
- While leaving the Library every user/member should ensure that he/she carries only those books that are duly issued by their names.
- Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome.
Users are divided into the following categories - their entitlements, maximum number of books and issuing period are proposed in the following table.

Maximum two books are issued to the willing students of all semesters from Book Bank section, which they can keep with them for two months.
Library Membership
Central Library extends its services towards students of UG & PG section, permanent faculty members, guest teachers, non-teaching staff , research scholars, ex-students and ex-staff of our college, students of other schools and colleges.
Students of UG & PG section, permanent faculty members, guest teachers, non-teaching staff can borrow books from library.
Research Scholars, ex-students and ex-staff of our college, students of other schools and colleges can use the reading room and repository of our college only. Bar-coded Identity Card is used as Library Card.
Fine and penalty for damaged or lost books
A fine of Re.1/working day will be charged for students failing to return the book/books within the due date. Members will be responsible for any kind of mutilation of the books.
In case of loss/damage/mutilation of books, borrower should be liable to
- replace the book of the same edition or the latest one. or,
- If the book is out of print then replace the book with the new edition of the same subject.
Library Clearance
Students have to collect Library Clearance showing their library cards, at the time of collecting result of final examination. They have to return all books borrowed from library.
Staff have to collect Library Clearance at the time of retirement or leave the institution .They have to return all books borrowed from library.
